RIVERSIDE RAVENS FLOOR HOCKEY
RAVEN REPORT FEBRUARY 2008
1. Our Hockey Day in Canada festivities was a tremendous success. Special
thanks to our Board of Directors for their efforts in making this day very
successful. I would also like to thank those who took part in our special
raffle for this event. Almost 500 cans were collected and $116.00 in cash was
donated. All the proceeds went to a local charity-St. Vincent de Paul Society.
2. A reminder thatMarch 29th will be the last day for floor hockey. The
regular schedule will be followed on that day. Participation awards will be
awarded to each player following their scheduled games. Refreshments(pop,
juice, water) will also be provided. Information in regards to next year’s
floor hockey season will be available in print form.
3. I must remind some people that we are tenants in this fine facility and must
abide by the rules set down by the landlord. We do pay rent but we must
abide by the rules of the building-children must be supervised at all times,
the lower classroom(west side of building) is “out of bounds” during the day,
and we are expected to keep the facility as clean as possible. We still have
some people leaving their “trash” in the gym but for the most part people are
throwing away their “trash” in the proper receptacles located outside the
gyms. We thank you for this and hopefully those who are still leaving their
“trash” in the gym see the “errors of their ways”.
4. Players must keep their helmets on at all times during the game. It has come
to our attention that some players are removing their helmets while on the
bench. Coaches, please ensure that players do not remove their helmets
while on the bench. Also I must also remind parents and players that the
benches are for players only and everyone else must be seated behind the
boards. This includes the benches located next to the “blue gym divider”.
For obvious safety reasons this area is “out of bounds” during the game.
5. We are looking into obtaining a website for our league. Details are being
worked out and once completed, we will inform you of our e-mail address and
how you will be able to access our site for floor hockey information.
