RIVERSIDE RAVENS FLOOR HOCKEY
RAVEN REPORT OCTOBER 2008
1. This will be our third year of operating this program. To those who are returningwelcome
back-for those who are joining us for the first time-welcome. Our
programs philosophy is not based on winning or losing but on skill development,
making new friends, learning good sportsmanship and having fun while at the
same time getting valuable exercise. Parents and coaches please make a note of
our philosophy. We want the players to want to come back week after week, year
after year. We want them to have fun and enjoy each and every game-win or lose.
We want them to do their best and not be too concerned about the outcome. As a
league success for us will be measured not by wins or losses but by the players’
skill development throughout the season. Success for us will also be measured by
the player wanting to come back and play in our league next season.
2. Monies raised to operate this program comes from three sources: registration fees,
sponsorships, and fundraising. Our main source of fundraising is derived from
working bingos. Our registration fees are based on our expenses(facility rental,
referee costs and equipment and uniforms) and monies raised through our various
sources of revenue. As a Board we felt that there was no need to increase
registration fees this year. Registration fees will only be raised when necessary to
meet our expenses for running the program.
3. As noted above, sponsorship revenue helps us to meet some of our expenses of
running this program. If you know of anyone who would be willing to sponsor a
team, please let us know. The cost of a sponsorship is $150.00.
4. It is imperative that parents read and follow our Parents Code of Conduct. It is
important for the parents to know conduct that will and will not be deemed
acceptable by the Board. Unacceptable conduct will not be tolerated and will be
dealt with immediately by the directors. A zero tolerance policy will be in effect
during the season.
5. It is imperative that coaches please read and follow our Coaches Code of Conduct.
It is important for coaches to know conduct that will and will not be acceptable by

board member (names listed on website). If you have any ideas to improve our
program, once again do not hesitate to let us know. We are eager to listen to your
