How We Were Formed

Sport Fest Windsor - How We Were FormedSport Fest Windsor is the brainchild of Tom Awad who miraculously survived an eleventh hour liver transplant.

After recovering from a near death experience, Tom awoke inspired to commit his experience to paper. Within twenty minutes, without a word being edited, Tom wrote an emotionally crafted poem in honour of his donor.

“At The Edge – A Tribute to my Donor” (please see below), is a beautifully written poem that so began Tom’s journey to give something back to those who gave Tom his second chance at life.

Along with his brother Roger, and a few friends, Sport Fest Windsor was born. Together, this group of individuals created a mandate, which simply put, is to promote organ donation awareness through sporting, cultural and entertainment events in hopes of inspiring others to give the gift of life.

Together we can turn “Tragedies Into Miracles” by registering our consent with OHIP (go to Trillium Gift Of Life) and discussing it with our loved ones.
