Sport Fest Windsor has Many Partnerships in the Community:
Windsor and Essex County Crime Stoppers,Inc.
We have created a friendship over the past few years and now have begun seeking a partnership through the potential Roadside Signs project. We hope to continue working together in promoting our visions.
Canadian Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Windsor Chapter (CCFF)
A new partner, the CCFF has a definite interest in organ donation. Many of those living with cystic fibrosis require a lung transplant at some point in their life. Promoting organ donation is part of the CCFF’s fight to find a cure and control for cystic fibrosis. In 2008 we have begun cross advertising and working on various projects together.
The Canadian Transplant Association (CTA)
A partnership in existence since Sport Fest Windsor’s inception, this national organization assists us in promoting organ and tissue donation awareness. They are also advocates for those who have received transplants. CTA assists in bringing all of those who have been given the gift of life together to help promote for organ and tissue donation in Canada. They assist us by promoting our events on their website www.organ-donation-works.org and participate in our “Gift of Life Walk” to London. Tom Awad Sport Fest Windsor Co Chair, Debbie Cobby Sport Fest Windsor Secretary & Lynn Tetler Sport Fest Windsor Committee Member are all liver recipients and are members of the CTA.
The Canadian Liver Foundation
We have a common bond, since the Liver Foundation advocates and promotes organ donation within their community.
The Kidney Foundation
Like the Canadian Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and the Canadian Liver Foundation, the Kidney Foundation shares their mission in promoting organ donation. Kidney transplants are one of the most common transplants. Consequently, they are leaders in transplant advocacy.
Windsor Essex County Seniors Sports Organization (WECSSO)
This group assists us in promoting many of our sporting events that we hold throughout the year. WECSSO also supports Sport Fest Windsor through our fundraising events and helps with promoting awareness of the need for organ and tissue donation.
Windsor Spitfires
Our Ontario Hockey League local club allow us to participate in Charity Day events and hand out information about organ and tissue donation to the ticket holders at various games throughout the year.
Riverside Ravens Floor Hockey
This organization is comprised of athletic youth from the Windsor community. Sport Fest Windsor has supported the team and in return, they promote organ and tissue donation through their team and the other teams they play within our community.
Volunteer Canada
Sport Fest Windsor is a member and they assist us by relaying our emails to other members in support of our cause.
Bogey Golf Tour
They run a Charity Golf Tournament for Sport Fest Windsor and promote our cause through their website and their other 13 tournaments in the Windsor area.
It is then important to discuss your wishes with your family.
