2010 Halloween Party Fundraiser
Young Ladies Organize Fundraiser for Organ Donation Awareness
Sport Fest Windsor is very proud to have three enthusiastic young ladies on board with our mission to promote organ donor awareness in our area. The three Leamington girls are Morgan, Dominique and Karlaina Osmon. Morgan & Dominique are students at Cardinal Carter Secondary School in Leamington & Karlaina is in her 2nd yr at University of Windsor biology/neurology sciences double major who wants to be a family doctor some day.
Morgan and her sisters wanted to make a difference in their community and decided to plan a Halloween party and have their friends collect pledges and have the proceeds donated to a charity of some sort. Morgan’s mom, Chantal Lair who works at Heinz contacted Debbie Cobby, a Sport Fest Windsor committee member to let her know that they had chosen Sport Fest and organ donation awareness as their charity of choice.
After much planning and organizing, the “Halloween Charity Bash” went off without a hitch. This event raised $813.00 plus another $105.00 was received from Cardinal Carter School from the “missions” collection. The event was held at the Leamington Kiwanis Camp on Saturday, October 30, 2010.
We are proud to have these young ladies in our community and thank them for all their hard work in their first fundraising endeavour. Hope this is just a beginning for them to be actively involved in promoting events such as this in our community.

[info_box]Q: What if donation conflicts with my religious beliefs? A: Most major religions support organ and tissue donation. If your religion restricts the use of a body after death, consult your religious leader. Restrictions may not apply if the donation could save another life.[/info_box] [ztop] [savelives_box]
