Russ Field’s field goal with one second remaining in regulation time gave Esquire Men’s Shop (3-3) a thrilling 74-72 victory over Malette Pharmacy (2-6) in their Windsor and District Basketball League game at the Kennedy Collegiate Gym.
Thursday night’s other scheduled game at Leamington between AKO and Leamington Falcons was postponed due to hazardous road conditions.
Fields who hooped 12 points for the Esquires, tallied the last three field goals of the game as the Men’s Shop roared from behind to claim the victory. Ted Barr was high scorer for the winners with 16 points and Perry Mann counted 12.
Ted Hoole led the Malette scoring with 19 points, one more than Bob McMillan and four more than Tom Hawken.
