Imperials’ Theriault U.A.W Loop Batting Champ
Emile Theriault of Imperials has been crowned batting champion of the Local 444 U.A.W Softball League, according to final and official figures released today by Western Ontario Scorers’ Association.
Theriault won out in a close race with Bill Bridgeman of Furys and Gus Angus of Tool Room. The new champion pounded 17 hits in 41 trips to the plate for a .415 mark, while Bridgeman trailed by .002 percentage points and Angus by .010. Bridgeman slammed the most hits, 26. Including were nine doubles, to lead that department, and three triples, which tied him with Cal Pearson of Imperials.
Angus slammed five homers to gain the loop’s “slugging” title. He also had four doubles and two triples. Following are the circuit’s exclusive top ten:
